Tronador CLI v0.5.5 to v0.5.10: Predictable Releases and Windows Distribution

Created: October 20, 2026
Updated: October 20, 2026

tronador-cli v0.5.10 was published on October 20, 2026 (UTC). Since v0.5.5, the CLI has tightened release-version selection and dry-run previews, added a separate Windows release pipeline with Chocolatey packaging, and improved Windows executable metadata. The package and repository remain tronador-cli; the installed command is tronador.

For current commands and configuration, use the Tronador CLI documentation. The full v0.5.5…v0.5.10 comparison provides the source history.

Release timeline

Dates below are public GitHub release publication dates in UTC, not local tag-creation dates.

ReleasePublished (UTC)What changed
v0.5.6October 9, 2026Release start honors GitVersion's calculated increment rather than applying a separate bump; the documentation site and Pages publishing workflow were added.
v0.5.7October 15, 2026Separate Windows release artifacts and native Chocolatey packaging joined the release pipeline. Dry runs show the calculated tag, and local finish merge titles were corrected.
v0.5.8October 16, 2026Refined release presentation and GitVersion tagging.
v0.5.9October 17, 2026Versions workflows gained default behavior when a GitVersion configuration is absent; invalid configuration still needs correction.
v0.5.10October 20, 2026Windows implementation uses typed APIs instead of repository-owned direct ntdll calls, and the release corrects Chocolatey package metadata. These changes aim to reduce antivirus false-positive signals, not guarantee clearance.

More predictable release workflows

For GitVersion-backed projects, release start now uses the version GitVersion calculates. The workflow no longer applies an independent increment on top of that result. Dry-run output can show the calculated tag before a branch or release operation runs, making the intended result easier to review. See the versions command guide for the current workflow and safeguards.

The v0.5.9 fallback lets versions workflows proceed with documented defaults when a repository simply lacks GitVersion configuration. It does not make a malformed configuration valid or bypass guarded operations.

Windows and Chocolatey

The Windows release pass now builds Windows archives and a native tronador-cli.<version>.nupkg asset. Chocolatey publication is a separate step after the GitHub release becomes public, and availability on the community feed can lag the GitHub release. Check the Chocolatey package page for its currently approved version before choosing that installation route. The GitHub v0.5.10 release also provides Windows ZIPs and the package asset.

The latest Windows changes improve executable metadata and avoid direct ntdll calls in repository-owned code. They are compatibility and false-positive-reduction work, not a promise that every antivirus product will approve the binary.
